Watford rfc v Actonians rfc
On a brisk Saturday afternoon Watford rfc took on the mighty As at Watford’s ground in a mid table clash that had great importance to both teams league campaigns.
The first half kicked off with both teams eager to make an impression on one another with some big tackles going in from either side. Watford putting together some good phases but struggling to make it show on the scoreboard which was a testament to the As defence.
The As went ahead by two scores thanks to Ollie and Zak setting a good platform for the lads through good kicking and game management. Giving the outside backs, ted, JT and Matt Wilson plenty of space to do what they do best.
Just before half time As discipline started to slip giving away silly penalties and allowing Watford to get some field position and get a foothold on the game with a couple of tries. Actonians went into the half time break with a narrow lead which did not tell the story of the game.
The game kicked off for the second half with Actonians keen to put the game to bed but Watford were given a huge opportunity after second row Dan Cussons was sent off for ten minutes for a yellow card offence.
However it was the actonians pack that closed out the game with three tries from strong carries and broken play, with JT finishing in the corner to finish off the game with a convincing win in the end for Actonians rfc
